More local fun

Some of my posts are out of order, like this one.

We made a trip to the fair (before the Yoder reunion).

We watched  a demonstration of an old-fashioned lumber saw. Dad told us all a disturbing story of a man (who lived to tell the story) of falling onto the blade and witnessing his own beating heart.
Lovely.

Enjoying a few rides.

Dad found this discarded hat...

It was kids night AND the weather was gorgeous = the most full parking lot I have ever seen.

We love just hanging out at Mom and Dad's house too.

We played some croquet...I was not so good.

Aubrey loved rolling in the grass. Neither of us is allergic to this grass, like we are to fescue at home in Wichita.

Breakfast at the Essenhaus. Tyler trying some of Grandpa's fried mush with tomato gravy, just to make Uncle Hollins proud.

I had to include this picture of sweet Tipper eating her yogurt.

Yoder Reunion

The next weekend was the Yoder Reunion at Camp Azusa in Syracuse, Indiana.

Look at my cute Aunties who wore matching shirts. :)

Trina giving haircuts on the back porch.

Hanging out with Jeremiah.
I crack myself up. :P

Sweet little Tipper

Oh yes, more corn hole.

Wilbur and Delilah in their matching outfits.

 Ending the night with fireworks.

Showalters Visit

We were happy that Rachel, Jillian and Reid could come for a visit. We spent a good part of the day in Shipshewana.

Carousel ride

In the evening, Dad gave us all powered parachute rides. (Well, those of us 8 and older). ;)
You can kind of see that this is Tyler getting a ride.

Jillian and Reid hung out with the neighbor kids who were watching the action.

Cabin

One night, Aubrey and I slept in Dad's cabin.

She had wet hair, so we covered her head and gave her a head lamp. Funny little girl.

It was dark, so my phone's flash was the only light for Dad to get this picture of us, cuddled in for the night.

The next morning, we walked back in a light rain. Aubrey was happy to hold the umbrella.

Right behind the cabin is the pumpkin vine...I love the pumpkin vine trail, and now that it's paved, it's longer and so much easier to enjoy. One of the things I miss in Kansas is the beauty of all those tall trees.

Frogs

Our first weekend, we had an extended family reunion. I failed to take any pictures. We did take cousin Brennan home for the afternoon. We also had 2 other friends in the vehicle, to Wayne's dismay. One frog (or toad???) for each boy,  captured at the pond, and trapped in a cup for the ride back to Mom and Dad's house.

On the way, Tyler's escaped. When I told Wayne, his deadpan response, without skipping a beat, "you're dead to me."

We had a good laugh, and the escapee was quickly retrieved when we stopped...discovered under the clutch pedal. Lucky guy that he was not squashed.

Setting them free in their new home.

Home

It always warms my heart to be home.
We had a few days in Middlebury before the reunions commenced.

Feeding the fish with Grandpa.

On our way to the lake.

Some girl time - Thai for lunch, then consignment shopping with Aunt Anna, Trina, and Mom.

One evening, we biked the Pumpkin Vine then enjoyed pizza at Village Inn and Ice Cream at the food truck, Rocket Science Ice Cream.

Visiting the neighbors at their furniture store.

Traveling to Indiana

Trying to get myself caught up...

July 16, we were packed up and loaded for our annual summer trip to Indiana.

We were slightly excited...

Our good little travelers.
